IRS releases ’09 amounts for HSAs

The new maximum contribution levels for ’09 are:
- $3,000 – for an eligible individual with self-only coverage
- $5,950 — for family coverage
- $1,000 — for ‘catch-up’ contributions for individuals 55 or over
- $5,800 — annual out-of-pocket amounts for high-deductible health plan (HDHP) self-coverage
- $11,600 annual out-of-pocket amounts for HDHP family coverage
The new amounts take into account cost-of-living adjustments for the coming year.
