IRS shortens key tax filing extension

IRS just shortened your extended due date if you must file certain kinds of statements.
IRS issued temporary and proposed legislation that reduces the extension from six months to five to file tax returns for Schedules K-1 and similar statements.
The goal is to ease the burden on individual taxpayers who can’t file their own returns until they’ve received the information from those statements.
