Being exempt doesn’t mean your tax compliance is easy. Now, the feds are offering some help for accounting pros at exempt organizations. IRS is sponsoring three one-day workshops in small to mid-sized tax-exempt organizations. Among the topics covered are:
- overview of tax-exempt status
- activities that can risk your 501(c)3 status
- completing Form 990
- unrelated business income and gaming
- employment issues
- record-keeping, and
- required disclosures.
The workshops cost $45 per person and will be held:
- Chicago — Oct. 21, 22, 23
- Detroit — Nov. 18, 19, 20, and
- Memphis — Dec. 2, 3, 4.
For more info or to register, visit IRS’ site and click on the Calendar of Events. Or you can call 800-521-3980.
Material from the workshop will be available here.
